Mikhail Baryshnikov visiting Ernest Vitin

Artist Ernest Vitin was delighted by the visit of the legendary performance artist Mikhail Baryshnikov, who, in the midst of performances of his one man show Brodsky / Baryshnikov, found the time to see both the workshop and "In Nature" in the multi-award winning New Academic Centre for Natural Sciences of the University of Latvia.

On the October 15th, 2015 the New Riga Theatre experienced an extraordinary agiotage as the tickets to the one-man show premiere Brodsky / Baryshnikov were sold out in 15 minutes! The show is returning to Riga in May, 2016 and has also been performed in New York, Tel Aviv and elsewhere.

The show Brodsky / Baryshnikov is based on the poems of Nobel laureate Joseph Brodsky, performed by the legendary Mikhail Baryshnikov, conceived and directed by Alvis Hermanis, noted Latvian director of The New Riga Theatre and produced by Baryshnikov Arts Center, NY. It is an emotional journey deep into the poet's visceral and complex compositions.
